Summary of Role

Oversee and coordinate the quality inspection team to make sure products meet quality requirements.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in inspecting incoming materials, in process product and finished product to ensure adherence to company quality standards and customer specifications.
• Coordiante the activities of quality inspectors and ensure that they meet the quality standards required.
• Work with production team to plan and allocate work accordingly to ensure efficient and on time inspection.
• Work with manufacturing in improving product quality, scrap reduction, and process improvement
• Responsible for training new quality inspectors
• Perform regular on the job training to ensure direct reports meet inspection standards
• Support MRB, corrective action and Engineering teams as needed
• Implement company policies and procedures
• Recommends improvements in inspection methods, equipment operating procedures and working conditions.
• Actively supports the Quality, Safety and Environmental Programs.
• Comply with AS9100
• Responsible for 5S activities within the inspection department
• Perform any miscellaneous duties as assigned by management

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience in manufacturing inspection
• Minimum 1 years experience as a quality supervisor or similar role
• Experience working within a ISO9001 certified company required
• Aerospace background strongly preferred
